Submitting Your Work
The Ninth Annual HEAR Now Audio Fiction and Arts Festival is scheduled for June 24-27, 2021. It will be held in a variety of 'virtual' environments where programs will be presented as podcasts or in-person online zoom performances or meetings.
While 2021 Festival programming is continuing to evolve, you are welcome to submit work to be judged for inclusion in the festival by either submitting recorded works for our online Podcast Palooza programming, or scripts and video recordings for our 'live' AUDIO Tonight event.
Please CLICK ON THE BUTTONS below and read about the two options.
You can also visit HEAR Now Festival's 2020 Podcast Palooza and AUDIO Tonight! programs to see how your work might be included in the 2021 Festival.
Submission Deadline has been EXTENDED to April 11, 2021. Replies for submissions will be sent by May 15, 2021.

The National Audio Theatre Festivals (NATF) welcomes original and adapted material to be showcased, either in recorded form, or performed 'live' or on video at the annual HEAR Now Festival.
Recorded works are showcased in listening sessions and on-line as podcasts, while live performance material can be featured at the festival’s Saturday finale, AUDIO Tonight!
HEAR Now: The Audio Fiction and Arts Festival is a listening and juried audio festival scheduled for June 24 - 27, 2021. Programming will be hosted primarily online.
HEAR Now is the equivalent of a film festival but for the audio -- think Sundance without the pictures -- which includes celebrating and showcasing full-cast audio drama, audio book narration, audio installations, live performance, and more!
The four day festival features recorded listening to both legendary performances and new pieces of audio fiction; from story-telling to audio art.
On Saturday June 27, 2021, we will present Audio Tonight!, a live performance in the format of a variety show. HEAR Now is accepting recorded submissions and live performance ideas to be included in that show. So if you are an audio dramatist, an audio theater company, a narrator, a spoken word performer, or a sound artist of any kind –and you have a short piece you would like us to consider including in this show– we want to hear from you.
Submission Fee: $35.00 per entry
Live performances be as short as 30 seconds, but no more than 20 minutes: enough time to read a poem or stage a short play with cast and sound effects.
Recorded submissions will be used throughout the Festival in high quality listening theaters providing 6 hours daily of sonic adventures, ranging from comedy to horror to thrillers to historical drama.
NATF requires an initial 5-minute sample of the work you wish to submit to the Festival. If the Acquisitions Committee likes your sample, we will then ask for the entire work for further review.
