In celebration of Missouri’s new legislation releasing original birth certificates to adult adoptees, which begins on January 1 2018, Alison Larkin, who is in Kansas City as part of Hear Now: the Audio Fiction and Arts Festival, will give a rare live performance.
During An Afternoon with Alison Larkin on Saturday June 10th at Bragg Auditorium from 3:00pm – 4:30pm she will talk about her adoption by very English parents, her reunion with her all-American birth mother, parents, nature, nurture, England, America, parenting – and how to make a decent cup of tea.

Alison was raised in a loving English family. However, finding her birth parents turned out to be crucial. Not only did it answer Alison’s questions about her genetic heritage, thanks to medical history her birth mother was able to provide, the reunion later saved her life.
